Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation?
A:
TransNexus was founded in 1997 to develop clearing and settlement software solutions for VoIP networks. Since that time the TransNexus NexOSS software has evolved into a complete suite of products for managing wholesale VoIP operations.  Important features include dynamic least cost and quality of service routing, number portability, fraud detection, traffic reports and alarms, profitability analysis and wholesale billing.

Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry?
A:
Two things: innovation and customer service. First, TransNexus has been a pioneer in operations support system (OSS) software for VoIP networks.  Customers have found TransNexus because they needed solutions for their VoIP network that did not exist. Second, customer service is our first business goal.  We start every business relationship with a free evaluation trial that includes solution design, implementation and training.  We want our customers fully satisfied with the TransNexus solution in production before they have to commit to purchase.

Q: What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced in the marketplace?
A:
The slow adoption of VoIP technology for interconnecting carrier networks has been the number one obstacle to our growth. For regulatory reasons, carriers have a strong financial incentive to interconnect using traditional SS7 networks.  However, this is starting to change and we are excited about how this will expand our addressable market.

Q: What do you see as your greatest challenges going forward?
A:
Keeping up with new customer requirements is our biggest challenge and the best part of our job. As a focused software development company, the common focus of TransNexus employees is to deliver innovative new features to the rapidly changing IP communications market. We think the industry is on the verge of creating new business models that will drive adoption of new services, such as high definition audio and video services. We are eager to provide the software that will enable those new business models.

Q: What have been some of your company’s most recent achievements (new customer wins, new service/product deployment, etc.)?
A:
Last year we became an Acme Packet Interop-Plus partner. Since Acme Packet is the global market leader in IP session border controllers, our close cooperation with Acme Packet has expanded our business beyond service providers into the enterprise market. This is an exciting new development for us, since many enterprises operate very large and sophisticated IP networks. Another new development for TransNexus has been our fraud detection product. Fraud has become a major problem for enterprises and SIP trunking service providers and the NexOSS solution is well positioned to detect and block fraudulent calls.

Q: Why is it important for your company to be a COMPTEL member?
A:
Many of our customers are COMPTEL members.
