Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation?
A: Since 1997, BillSoft has provided tax solutions that solve the time-consuming process of calculating and remitting taxes for thousands of jurisdictions nationwide.

Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry?
A: We provide a total tax solution to communications companies and support every solution with our unique customer service approach. We’re best known for our flagship product, EZTax. This software package integrates with existing billing systems to compute all the taxes required. EZTax calculates at a whopping 1.8 billion transactions per hour. This greatly shortens the bill processing cycle.

Today, we have a suite of products with each one solving a different aspect of the tax compliance puzzle in a user-friendly way.

Q: What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced in the marketplace?
A: BillSoft has grown every year despite the economic downturn. So where others see obstacles, we see opportunity.

Q: What do you see as your greatest challenges going forward?
A: One of the greatest challenges for the communications industry can be summed up in one word. Change. When that change applies to taxes, it’s our mission at BillSoft to stand ready with a complete solution.

Q: What have been some of your company’s most recent achievements (new customer wins, new service/product deployment, etc.)? A: In 2009, BillSoft continued its growing ways, won numerous new clients and announced expanded office space to house our growing workforce and a state-of-the-art data center. In 2010, we’ll launch a major new product called EZFile.

Q: Why is it important for your company to be a COMPTEL member?
A: Our COMPTEL membership gives us an opportunity to connect with other members and help solve a serious headache—tax compliance.
