Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation?
A: Dash Carrier Services is the leading provider of wholesale carrier products and services for IP Telephony rollouts that provides a unique, all-inclusive set of offerings to both emerging VoIP providers and established voice carriers. Its comprehensive, integrated portfolio includes dash911, E911 for VoIP, dashconnect, U.S. and Canadian origination and termination, and dashinfo, CNAM, 411, and nationwide directory listing services
Founded in 2002 with headquarters in Denver, Dash boasts a nationwide and Canadian footprint, and maintains partnerships with several of the industry’s foremost innovators. As a financially stable, profitable and expertly managed organization, Dash stands alone in the position to deploy and deliver effective carrier solutions that require minimal investment, create consistent additional revenue streams, and meet the complex demands of today’s evolving marketplace
Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry?
A: Dash has always maintained a singular focus on only offering carrier services, and not competing with our providers; we take pride in being true partners. In addition, we have purposely controlled our growth to ensure financial stability, to provide a high level of customer service, and to introduce automation via our back-office OSS in a legacy environment.
Q: What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced in the marketplace?
A: The overwhelming success of our e911 service. We are currently working to raise awareness of the full suite of carrier services, which includes dash911, E911 for VoIP, dashconnect, U.S. and Canadian origination and termination, and dashinfo, CNAM, 411, and nationwide directory listing services.
Q: What do you see as your greatest challenges going forward?
A: For 2009, the biggest challenge will be maintaining both internal and external confidence in the marketplace when competitors fall victim to global economic instability and completely shut their doors.
Also, in the face of growing competition from RBOCs, it is critical for Dash to continue partnering with leading innovators in the marketplace
Q: What have been some of your company’s most recent achievements (new customer wins, new service/product deployment, etc.)?
A: In 2008, the FCC mandated that all TRS providers have the ability to offer emergency services utilizing the existing network and provide local number availability. Dash reacted to this market change, and provided solutions for more than half of the TRS providers in the US including two RBOC’s.
Q: Why is it important for your company to be a COMPTEL member?
A: Dash Carrier Services has posted a consistent track record of success by providing the marketplace with the essential, enhanced services that large providers are unable to offer. To continue growing and to meet our goals for 2009 and beyond, we are depending on the continued support for a competitive environment and access to facilities, network, and ancillary services. COMPTEL is a voice for our industry, which we feel is invaluable representation for working with a new administration.
