Q: Describe your organization
A:
PAETEC Communications Inc., a subsidiary of PAETEC Corp., is a communications solutions provider offering broadband services, including advanced voice and video, enhanced data and communications management services to medium-sized and large businesses, colleges and universities, hospitals, hotels, governmental organizations, financial markets, and affinity groups. PAETEC also is a provider of services to the wholesale and resale communities, including local and long distance termination, 800 toll-free, IP transport, and co-location in the wholesale environment and fully integrated voice, data, and VPN services, metro bundles, and CPE for resellers. Headquartered in Fairport, N.Y., the company boasts one of the highest customer retention rates in the industry.

Q: What do you attribute to your organization's longevity in the industry?
A:
PAETEC prides itself on delivering industry-leading customer service, which results in our customers having more time to concentrate on growing their business. The company's business plan focuses on the use of special access for "last mile" connectivity, providing higher quality and reliability and minimizing regulatory risk. Additionally, PAETEC's 'smart build' strategy pushes its network out to customer locations only as volume warrants.

Q: Discuss some of your company's most recent achievements.
A:
Some of our recent customer wins include a long-distance arrangement with Miami-Dade County covering more than 800 sites, and an agreement to provide the state of New Jersey with PINNACLE, our company's proprietary communications management suite software. On the product side, in the second half of 2004 PAETEC launched MPLS with QoS, and in December rolled out a suite of IP-based services (Automatic and Manual Ring Down, Hoot & Holler) aimed at the voice-trading segment of the financial services market. The company has seen tremendous growth in our Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam E-Mail Scanning Services. Our reseller channel realized T1 installation growth of 232 percent in the 12-month period from December 2003 through November 2004.

Q: Why is it important for your company to be a COMPTEL member?
A:
COMPTEL is a tremendous ally for legislative and regulatory issues, both as an information outlet and as an advocate for leveling the competitive landscape. COMPTEL also provides numerous forums for industry vendors to come together, which allows both easier access to potential and current partners and a chance to enhance our profile within the telecommunications community.
